Just some quotes I ran across

"What is defeat? Nothing but education; nothing but the first step to something better."

~Wendell Phillips

"I've learned that every loss or defeat reveals an important surprise…for time will prove each setback, was a blessing in disguise."
~Linda Ellis

"We don't know who we are until we see what we can do."

~Martha Grimes

"The real difficulty is to overcome how you think about yourself. If we don't have that we never grow, we never learn, and sure as heck we should never teach."
~Maya Angelou

sand and water

Do you have those moments when you have a picture that comes from nowhere and is stuck in your head for days? I have one that did just that to me last week.

A picture of a mold and sand, or light colored dirt. When you tilted the mold, the sand fell out in a pile of nothing.

Put the sand back in the mold and add water and tilt it and a form comes out.

The sand was us, the water God. Add God to us and He forms us into the mold He wants. Pure water. And dust.

Stop and smell the flowers

Today.

Stop what you are doing.

Smell the flowers.

And Thank God for them.

Thank Him for everything.

Good and Bad.

For the Good because it makes us realize that we need Him in the good times to make it through.

For the Bad because it makes us realize that we need Him to give us strength to make it through.

Give thanks for ALL things because we need Him to guide us at ALL times and through ALL times.

Me, me, me

The other day on my way to work, I was having my morning talk with God. Help me do this, help me forgive that, help me throught this day, etc.

Then I remembered my prayer list I had started. It had many names on it and so I began talking to God about the folks on that list. I had been do thing for about 20 minutes when it dawned on me that I had been praying all wrong.

I should have been praying for others, focusing on others, lifting others up, helping others, and the me would fall in place. Put me last and others first. Isn't that what God teaches?

Clouds

Does God have as much fun playing with clouds and making all those different shapes as we do playing in the sand?

Rainbows

Wednesday I was coming home from the Grands house in the rain I saw the most beautiful rainbow!

Have you ever seen the ENDS of a rainbow?? BOTH of them? I never have until the other day! I'm thinking that the car in front of me had not seen it either because they were weaving on the road too!

This rainbow was soooo clear! I could see every color! All the way across! The pot of gold was the golden fields of cut corn! It was such an awesome rainbow! Rarely have I seen one where you can pick out all the colors in each line!

THEN as I was driving, IT MOVED WITH ME! IT MOVED IN FRONT OF THE TREES! IT LOOKED LIKE CELLOPHANE PAPER! I COULD SEE THE TREES THROUGH THE RAINBOW! IT LOOKED LIKE IT WAS ON THE ROAD WITH ME! ON BOTH SIDES!

Then I caught up with it and went under it and it disappeared!

Never in my life have I seen a rainbow like this! I am not going to put up a picture of a rainbow because I want you to imagine THIS one! It was glorious!

Have a super great day!

Hugs!

Some of my favorite sayings

Laugh uncontrollably, it clears the mind!

Sometimes I pretend to be normal, but it gets boring, so I go back to being me. . .

Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain!

If the shoe fits, buy one in every color!

Count your blessings, not your worries!

Forget the potholes in the road, enjoy the journey instead!

Find something to laugh about every day!

If at first you don't succeed, change the rules!!

Take time to laugh, it is the music of the soul!

What are some of your favorite sayings??
Hugs!
